GS1 Digital Link, explained for brand teams

One code that scans at checkout and opens the right web experience everywhere else — here's how Digital Link works.

All postsJuly 15, 2026

GS1 Digital Link is a way of writing your product identifiers as a URL. The same 2D code scans at the register and opens a web experience when a customer points a phone at it.

Why it matters

Because the destination is a URL you control, it can change after printing. Recall notice today, loyalty offer next quarter — same code on the same box.

What resolvers do

A resolver looks at who's scanning and routes them: POS gets the GTIN, a shopper gets the product page, a warehouse scanner gets logistics data. That routing layer is the part most brands haven't planned for — and it's the part we build first.
